The driving method of LED lighting power supply

LEDs cannot directly use conventional mains voltage. Due to the characteristics of LED light sources, in order to meet the special voltage and current requirements of LED, it is necessary to use specially designed voltage conversion equipment to ensure the normal operation of LED. So LED lighting fixtures have a different power drive method from traditional lighting fixtures. The driving methods of LED lighting power supply include two types: Firstly, a constant current driving power supply. 1. The output current of a constant current drive circuit is constant, while the output DC voltage varies within a certain range with the size of the load resistance. When the load resistance is small, the output voltage is low, and the larger the load resistance, the higher the output voltage; 2. A constant current circuit is not afraid of load short circuits, but it is strictly prohibited to completely open the load; 3. The constant current drive circuit is ideal for driving LEDs, but relatively expensive; 4. Attention should be paid to the maximum withstand current and voltage values used, which limit the number of LEDs used. Secondly, a regulated driving power supply. 1. After the various parameters in the voltage stabilizing circuit are determined, the output voltage is fixed, while the output current changes with the increase or decrease of the load; 2. The voltage stabilizing circuit is not afraid of open circuit of the load, but it is strictly prohibited to have a complete short circuit of the load; 3. Drive the LED with a voltage stabilizing driving circuit, and add appropriate resistors to each string in order to make the brightness of each LED display average;

How to choose a power adapter

When choosing a power adapter, the following key factors should be considered: Voltage. Ensure that the input voltage of the adapter matches the voltage of the power grid in your area. The output voltage needs to be consistent with the rated voltage of the device. Usually, the input voltage range of the power adapter is indicated on the label, such as 100-240 volts, indicating that it can operate within this voltage range. The output voltage of the adapter is usually marked with the letter V, indicating volts. An adapter that matches the voltage required by the device should be selected. Current . The output current refers to the maximum current that the adapter can provide. Ensure that the output current of the adapter is higher than the current required by the device. The unit of current is usually amperes (A), and the label of the adapter will indicate its output current. Frequency . Frequency is usually measured in Hertz (Hz), representing the number of cycles of alternating current. The frequency of the power grid in different countries may vary, usually 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Ensure that the frequency range of the adapter can adapt to the grid frequency in your area. Plug type. Select the plug type that is compatible with the device you need to connect to. Different countries and regions have different plug standards, and if you travel frequently, you may need a plug converter. In addition, when selecting a power adapter, factors such as the size and weight of the adapter, safety, brand name, and quality assurance need to be considered. Ensure purchasing from reputable brands and avoid using low-quality adapters to avoid potential safety hazards.
